Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what data the ESMS Android application ("ESMS", "the App") accesses, how it's used, and where it goes. It's written to match how the App actually works — please update it if you change what the App does.

Short version: ESMS stores your message, contact number, and (if enabled) your last known location on your device. That data leaves your device only as the SMS you asked ESMS to send — we don't run a server that collects it, and we don't sell or share it with third parties.

1. Data the App accesses

  • Phone number and message text you enter, to queue and send your SMS.
  • SMS permission, to send the message on your behalf through your device's SIM.
  • Location (last known device location), only if you turn on "Attach location," and only at the moment you write a message.
  • Phone/SIM state, to detect signal availability and, on dual-SIM devices, to let you choose which SIM sends the message.

2. Where this data is stored

All of the above is stored locally on your device while your message is queued. ESMS does not operate a backend server that receives or stores your messages, contacts, or location. Once your message is sent as an SMS, it travels through your mobile carrier's network like any other text message — subject to your carrier's own practices, not ours.

3. What we don't do

  • We don't sell your data.
  • We don't run analytics or ad-tracking SDKs inside the App. (Update this line if you add analytics or crash reporting later.)
  • We don't access your contacts, photos, or other apps.
  • We don't transmit your queued message anywhere except as the SMS you asked to send.

4. Permissions explained

Android will ask you to grant ESMS certain permissions the first time it needs them. You can review or revoke these at any time in your device's Settings → Apps → ESMS → Permissions. Revoking a permission may stop the related feature (for example, revoking Location will disable location attachment) from working.

5. Donations and payments

If you choose to support development (for example, via a Solana donation address or a Play Store purchase), that transaction is handled by the relevant payment provider or blockchain network, not by us directly. We don't receive your payment card details.

6. Enterprise contact form

If you fill in the enterprise licensing form on this website, the information you submit (company, name, email, message) is sent to our inbox via a third-party form-delivery service, used only to respond to your inquiry. It is not added to a marketing list without your separate consent.

7. Children's privacy

ESMS is not directed at children and is not knowingly used to collect data from children under the age required by local law to consent to data processing.

8. Changes to this policy

If how ESMS handles data changes — for example, if we add optional cloud sync or analytics in the future — we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
